Squarespace Plan: What Is It & Which Plan Is Right for Me?

An easy guide to understand what Squarespace has to offer

When you build a website with Squarespace, you’ll need to choose a Squarespace subscription plan. This is a monthly or yearly payment that covers hosting, access to the platform, templates, and a range of built-in features like SEO tools, analytics, and support.

What is a Squarespace Plan?

A Squarespace plan is your all-in-one website subscription. It includes:

  • Website hosting (fast and secure)

  • Access to all base templates and design tools

  • Built-in SSL security

  • SEO settings and performance analytics

  • 24/7 customer service from the Squarespace support team

  • Platform maintenance and regular updates

This fee is paid directly to Squarespace when your site is ready to go live. - We will let you know in time when to purchase the tight plan for you.

First Year 25% Discount — Exclusive to Our Clients

As a Squarespace Platinum Circle Member, we’re pleased to offer you a 25% discount on your first annual plan.

  • We’ll guide you through selecting and purchasing the right plan during the project.

  • With the discount applied, your first-year plan payment will be approximately £153 + VAT (based on the Business Plan).

  • To receive this discount, you must select the annual billing option when setting up your plan.

This is a one-time discount, and future renewals will be at standard Squarespace rates.

✅ Which Squarespace Plan Is Suitable for Me?

Here’s a simple breakdown of the main Squarespace plans (based on annual billing):

Squarespace Plans

Plan Best For Monthly Price (Annual Billing) Key Features
Personal Blogs or simple portfolio sites £12 / $16 Basic design features, SSL, 2 contributors
Business Small businesses & services £17 / $23 Unlimited contributors, basic eCommerce, custom code
Commerce (Basic) Growing online stores £23 / $27 No transaction fees, inventory, customer accounts
Commerce (Advanced) Large or advanced eCommerce shops £35 / $49 Abandoned cart recovery, subscriptions, advanced shipping

Our Recommendation

We typically recommend the Business Plan for service-based websites or small businesses—it offers advanced design flexibility, basic eCommerce functionality, and great value with the 25% discount.

If your focus is selling products, especially at scale, one of the Commerce Plans will be more appropriate.

Do I Get a Refund If I Already Have an Existing Squarespace Plan?

If you already have an active Squarespace subscription and decide to start a new project or rebuild your site, there are a couple of important things to know:

  • If you're redesigning your current site, we can work as contributors within your existing plan and structure without affecting your billing cycle.

  • If you're starting from scratch with a new site, you will need to purchase a new plan for the new build. Your existing plan remains active until cancelled. Once you're ready to switch over, we can help you transfer your domain and content, and cancel the old site (if no longer needed) to avoid double charges going forward.

However, the good news is that Squarespace does offer refunds for the remaining unused time on an existing annual plan—as long as you contact their customer support directly and request it. This means you won’t lose the value of your previous subscription when transitioning to a new site.

We’re happy to guide you through this process to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption.

What Happens If I Forget to Pay My Yearly Plan?

If your yearly payment is missed (for example, if your card has expired), Squarespace will:

  • Place your site in a grace period, during which your site may be temporarily offline but not deleted.

  • Give you up to 30 days to update your payment information and reactivate your plan before your site is permanently disabled.

  • If your domain is registered through Squarespace, it may also be at risk of expiration, so it’s essential to keep payment info current.

We recommend enabling auto-renewal and double-checking your billing details regularly to avoid any issues. If a problem arises, just let us know—we’re here to help.
