What Content Do I Need to Provide for My Website?
A simple guide to what you’ll need to provide (and what we take care of)
One of the most common questions we get from new clients is:
“What do I need to give you for my website?”
And it’s a great question! Whether you’re launching a brand-new site or giving your old one a makeover, knowing what content to prepare can make the process smoother, faster, and far less stressful.
Here’s a clear breakdown of what you’ll typically need to provide and what we’ll handle for you.
What We Need From You
You don’t need to write a novel — but we do need a few key pieces from you to help build a site that truly reflects your business.
1. Written Content for Each Page
This includes the main text for pages like:
Home – a short welcome, what you do, your unique selling point
About – your story, mission, values, or background
Services or Products – a description of what you offer, how it helps, pricing if relevant
Contact – a short invite to get in touch, plus your email/phone/location
FAQs / Testimonials – optional but helpful
Tip: Don’t worry about getting it perfect — the previously agreed structural design template will help you with how much text/copy you need to supply us with .
2. Images & Visuals
This could include high resolution:
Brand or product photos
Team or headshots
Work examples or portfolio images
Backgrounds or textures
Your logo (in PNG files)
3. Branding, Colours & Fonts
If you already have branding, please send us:
Your logo (in high resolution or vector format if possible)
Your brand colours (hex codes or just your colour names)
Any font preferences (typefaces you love or already use)
Don’t have a brand kit? No problem! We have a logo and brand designer if you need help.
4. Videos (Optional)
If you want to include videos (introductions, walkthroughs, testimonials), please provide:
Video files (MP4 preferred) or YouTube/Vimeo links
Short titles or descriptions if needed
Tip: Keep videos under 2 minutes when possible for faster load times.
5. Links, Logins, or Integrations
We might need:
Social media links
Booking or calendar tools
Email sign-up forms or contact forms
Any third-party tools you use (e.g., Calendly, Mailchimp, Airbnb)
Don’t worry — we’ll guide you step by step if you’re unsure how to get these- you can also read our different useful hints & tips blog section that we put together.
