How to transfer a domain to 123-Reg
Before you begin
Ask your previous web developer to send a copy of the current DNS records and pass them onto us. This will help us make sure that essential services like your email and website don’t go down.
Get a new registrar
We recommend 123-Reg. Follow this link and create an account >
Initiate the domain transfer
In the video below, we’ve used davidandgeorge.co.uk - make sure to put your own domain in there instead.
Give us access to your new 123-Reg account
This will allow us to track your transfer and ensure that your email and website don’t go down.
Give your old web developer the info they need
Your web developer might ask you for an IPS tag. If they do, tell them the IPS tag is 123-REG.
Be aware
While we will do what we can to make sure your email and website don’t go down during the transfer but there is a possibility it could happen.
