Updating a link to a page, file or external website

Select the video most relevant to you. When testing links, it’s good idea to refresh the page first.

Update a text link - link up a piece of text to: a page on your site, a file/pdf, or an external website. Be sure to set the links to open in a new window if they are going to a file or external website like Google.com (not required for just linking to a page within your site).

Update a button link - link up to: a page on your site, a file/pdf, or an external website. Be sure to set the links to open in a new window if they are going to a file or external website like Google.com (not required for just linking to a page within your site).

Update image block link (with or without a button) - link up to: a page on your site, a file/pdf, or an external website. Be sure to set the links to open in a new window if they are going to a file or an external website like Google.com (not required for just linking to a page within your site). Double check that your image is an individual image block and not part of a gallery block or index gallery. After clicking edit on the page, when you hover on an individual image block, it will say ‘image’ and not ‘gallery’.

Update link on an index gallery image - link up to: a page on your site, a file/pdf, or an external website. Links cannot be set to open in a new window on click. The difference between an index gallery and a gallery block, is that a gallery block sits on a page, whereas an index gallery is a page in itself. Index galleries tend to be full width and can be styled as an offset grid, as per the video, or a uniform grid. Images may be square, rectangular or portrait.

Updating a gallery block image - link up to: a page on your site, a file/pdf, or an external website. Links cannot be set to open in a new window on click. The images in the gallery in the video are photographs but your gallery may contain icons or logos. The difference between a gallery block and an index gallery, is that a gallery block sits on a page, whereas an index gallery is a page in itself. Index galleries tend to be full width, gallery blocks are usually smaller and contain more images per row. Gallery block images can be set to open up larger on click, index gallery images cannot.

Updating a footer call to action banner link - link up to a page on your site or an external website. The CTA banner is made using a code block, when editing the code be careful not to delete the surrounding quotation marks. When linking to an external website, be sure to add target="_blank" to the code as shown in the video, this will make the link open in a new tab on click.

If you would like to link to an individual blog post or product, here’s how to find that link.
